Ivey Vason Rainwater, Sr., and Mary Ella Peacock Rainwater

Ivey Vason Rainwater, Sr., was the third son of Joseph Henry Rainwater and Letitia Williams. He was born in Georgia on 11 August 1889. He married Mary Ella Peacock prior to 1913. They had one son, Ivey Vason Rainwater, Jr., shown in this photo.

Ivey is listed as a hardware merchant in the 1920 census, and as a bank teller in the 1930 census. Later in life, the couple operated the Anthony Wayne Hotel in Waynesboro, Georgia.

Ivey Sr. died in 1971; Mary Ella in 1989. Ivey Jr. moved to Maryland, where he married Frances Boutchyard. He died in 1967.
