Andrew Thomas Rainwater

Andrew Thomas Rainwater was the fifth of seven children born to John Wesley Rainwater and Louisa Huldy Henry. Born 31 May 1880, he spent the first two decades of life in Tennessee.

Sometime after 1900, Andrew migrated to Texas, then to Oklahoma where he married Zerah Matilda Fudge on 26 January 1910. The couples three children were all born in Custer Co., OK. They are: Lois Darlene, born 1911; Gerald Wesley, born 1914; and Patrick Robert, born 1917.

At some point, Andrew also served in the army. The circumstances are not known, but this seems to have taken place between 1895 and 1910. His pension application indicates that he served in the 17th Battery of the US Field Artillary.

The family later lived in New Mexico, Arizona and finally California. Andrew died in 1956 and is buried in Los Angeles National Cemetery. Zerah outlived him by a great many years, dying in 1980. She is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills.
