The family Bible of Samuel Elbert Marshall (1855-1919) and his wife, Mary Louisa Blades (1858-1922),

older Bible than 1-4 and I cannot identify the handwriting. I presently own this Bible.

The Chance-Cannon Family Bible, Queen Anne's Co., MD & Philadelphia, PA
This transcription was made from a computer scan of a hand written document purporting to be a page
from a family Bible. There is no decoration of any sort on the page that is traditional with family Bibles
of the previous or current century. There is also no "deaths" section, also a traditional feature of family
Bibles. Each of the entries has check marks and small numbers written next to them and there are some strange
marks in the left hand margain, none of them consistant with a family Bible. In fact, what this appears to be
is a handwritten list of the marriages and births in this family. The style of writing is similar to that of
my grandmother's and appears to have been made with a fountain pen, both suggesting that the document is 50
or more years old, but not a great deal older. I have some doubts that this document is authentic and the
individual who sent it to me now refuses to answer any questions about its origins.

The Chance-Walls Family Bible, Kent Co. & Queen Anne's Co., MD
This transcription is taken from a photocopy of mircofilm held by the NSDAR. The original transcription
was made by a member of the Major Samuel Turbutt Wright Chapter of the NSDAR in Sudlersville, MD, and can be
found in Maryland Genealogical Records, Vol. 35, NSDAR #52981. Unfortunately, the quality of this transcription
is not good. It does not appear to be an exact transcription of the original wording, but a combination of
abstract, transcription and annotation. It is also not clear whether this represents two separate Bibles,
or one Bible that has been added to over a period of 150 years.
The last known owner of the original Bible was Alan Spencer Walls, now deceased.
